Faith Wambua Mwikali
Family Members: Faith
Rachael Brenda (daughter, 16)
Victor Wambua (son, 12)
Lillian Kaveke (daughter, 6)
Their Story: Faith’s is a heartbreaking story. After a 10-year marriage, Faith was expelled from her home and her extended family due to superstitions surrounding the special needs of her youngest daughter. Lillian (now age 6) was born with cerebral palsy, which many Kenyans believe is the result of witchcraft. Faith is committed to all three of her children and has struggled mightily as a single parent trying to meet the basic needs of her family, while also providing additional necessary care to address her daughter’s disabilities.
Goals for the Future: Faith wants to open a small general shop in the neighborhood market. Monthly support will help Faith take the next steps in making this dream a reality.
Your support of $50/month for three years will provide financial training, health and hygiene education, parenting classes, and counseling. It will also cover instruction, support, and mentoring to establish and run a small business to secure a bright future for this family.
